Laura Dubreuil will be representing Startlab as a dreamer in Imagine Silicon Valley 2013. Laura is Research engineer at Starlab, focused on topics related to neuroscience.
Starlab’s mission is to transform science into technologies with a profound positive impact on society. Their vision is to make science more useful, alive, vibrant, faster. Their main areas of work lie in the Space and Neuroscience sectors, two key areas for the 21st century with on a common element: the increasing availability of streams of information. Starlab was founded in Barcelona in 2000.
Previously Laura had worked as a Support Engineer at Applied Ocean Systems, designing underwater video transmission algorithms, and at Ernest and Yound as a management/strategy consultant.
Laura graduated with honors at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. During her years at college she interned at the Institute of Photonic Sciences working in the “Quantum engineering of light” team and spend 7 months at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) as a visiting engineer where she participated in various projects.
IMAGINE is a Creativity Center in California’s Silicon Valley for the generation of ideas with the aim to change the world and to change the lives of the people who participate in the program. The third edition of IMAGINE will be launched on Friday June 14th in Barcelona with the company of the 12 participants. These participants are winners of various creativity contests . The program will culminate with a public presentation of the ideas generated next July 29th in San Francisco.
